Since last brief

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash

Claim: DeepSeek released V4.1 Flash today, a 552B-parameter MoE with a new asymmetric causal encoder-decoder architecture (8B params active per input token, 16B per output token). DeepSeek says it beats V4 Pro on performance, cost, and speed, while cutting KV-cache HBM needs to a quarter and SSD needs to an eighth of the prior generation. Evidence: Official release with a technical report on Hugging Face DeepSeek (primary); architecture and pricing details independently reported by Neowin (independent) and TechTimes (independent). Caveat: The performance-vs-V4-Pro comparison is DeepSeek’s own benchmark, not yet reproduced by a third party. V4 Pro traffic force-routes to V4.1 Flash on Sept 14, so real-world comparisons land fast either way. Worth your time: Skim.
