Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company is the foundry that actually fabricates the leading-edge chips designed by NVIDIA, AMD, Apple, and most other AI silicon vendors – its advanced-node (and CoWoS advanced-packaging) capacity is the single biggest physical bottleneck on how fast the industry can produce AI accelerators. Its geographic concentration in Taiwan, and expansion into new fabs in Arizona and Japan, makes it as much a geopolitical story as a supply-chain one. Guidance on capacity expansion and node yields tends to move the whole semiconductor sector.
