Arista Networks builds the high-speed Ethernet switches used for scale-out AI networking – connecting thousands of GPUs into a single training cluster – and has positioned its Ethernet-based approach as an alternative to NVIDIA’s InfiniBand/NVLink stack for hyperscalers that want vendor optionality. Its largest customers are the handful of hyperscalers building the biggest AI clusters, which makes its results a useful proxy for hyperscaler AI capex. CEO Jayshree Ullal has emphasized open, standards-based networking as AI clusters scale past single-vendor architectures.
